LEARNING ABOUT YOUR HAND MIXER
The OSTER® Hand Mixer with Retractable Cord has been
designed to assist you in preparing delicious foods.
RETRACTABLE CORD
The cord has been designed to retract into the mixer
housing for convenient storage when not in use.
Button located on side of unit. (See Features)
BEATER EJECT BUTTON
This OSTER® Hand Mixer features a large and conveniently
located beater eject button. The design allows for a smooth
push of the thumb to release the beaters or dough hooks.
There will not be a noticeable “click”.
BURST OF POWER® FEATURE
The BURST OF POWER® feature allows for an added boost to
the selected speed setting at the press of the button. During
especially heavy mixing tasks, press the button to drive
through the mixture with ease. Once the button is released,
the mixer will return to the original speed setting.
BEATERS
The beater design allows for thorough, fast mixing results
for all types of batters. The beaters are dishwasher safe.
DOUGH HOOKS
Use these hooks to knead bread dough, pizza dough or
other heavy batters and doughs. Use at lower speeds for
best results.
Note that the beaters are interchangeable but dough hooks
are not. When using dough hooks, the dough hook with the
collar higher on the stem (see feature drawing) towards the
tip fits into the flat drive hole on the mixer. The dough hook
with the collar lower on the stem fits into the drive hole
with the raised rim. If dough hooks do not click into the
drive holes, reverse and try again.
DRINK MIXER
The drink mixer is designed to mix all types of frozen
or powdered drinks. Recommended for use in plastic
or metal beverage containers only.

COOKIE CUTTERS
Roll out cookie dough and press cookie cutters into the dough.
WHISK
The whisk is used to beat air into mixtures such as egg whites, yolks or cream.
HANDLE
The handle has been designed for comfort to prevent hand fatigue during heavy
or long mixing tasks.
USING YOUR HAND MIXER
Before using your mixer for the first time, wash the beaters in hot/soapy water,
or the dishwasher. Rinse and dry.
Be sure speed control is in the “OFF” or “0” position and unplugged from an
electrical outlet. Insert beaters one at a time, by placing stem end of beaters into
the opening drive holes on the bottom of the mixer. Turn beater slightly and push
in until beater clicks into position.
Note that the beaters are interchangeable but dough hooks are not. When using
dough hooks, the dough hook with the collar higher on the stem (see feature
drawing) towards the tip fits into the flat drive hole on the mixer. The dough
hook with the collar lower on the stem fits into the drive hole with the raised
rim. If dough hooks do not click into the drive holes, reverse and try again.
Firmly pull out a suitable length of cord and plug into an appropriate outlet.
When fully extended, the green mark on the cord is to indicate maximum usable
length. DO NOT pull the cord out beyond the red mark or you may damage
the cord.
MIXING
Slowly guide mixer around sides and through center of bowl, going in the same
direction. Be careful not to overbeat the mixture. Overbeating tends to make
some mixtures tough.
Whenever scraping of the bowl is required, stop the mixer and scrape sides and
bottom of bowl with a rubber spatula as needed. Turn speed control to “OFF” or
“0” and rest mixer on its heel rest while adding ingredients. Be sure to position
beaters over mixing bowl so any drippings will fall back into mixing bowl.

English-4
When mixing is complete, set speed control to “1” and raise beaters slowly
from batter to clean off clinging food. Be sure to turn unit to “0” before raising
beaters completely out of mixing bowl.
EJECTING BEATERS OR DOUGH HOOKS
Be sure speed control is at the “OFF” or “0” position and cord is removed from
electrical outlet. Scrape off any excess batter with a rubber spatula. Grasp the
stems of the beaters with your hand and press the beater eject button. Beaters
will release into your hand.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR TOOL USE
Two mixer tools are used as follows:
Beaters: For easy mixing of dough, eggs, cream, mayonnaise and for
mixing or stirring sauces and pudding powders.
Dough Hooks: For the preparation of heavy yeast dough or short pastries.
Also potato dough, dumplings and potato pancakes.
Set the position selector to “0” position. Insert the end part of the dough hook
or the beater into one round opening on the underside of the mixer, paying
attention to the left and right position, press and turn slightly until it is engaged
in the correct position.
HOW TO RELEASE BEATERS AND DOUGH HOOKS
Press down eject button. The hook or beaters can then be easily removed.
HOW
T
O
USE THE MIXER
1. Set the position selector to the “0” position. Unplug the mixer, insert the
beaters or dough hooks.
2. Insert the plug into a working electrical outlet.
3. Place ingredients into a bowl. Place the mixer handle directly in the center
of the bowl.
4. Select the speed setting that matches your mixing needs.
5. Operate the mixer.
6. Guide the beaters continuously through the mixture. Whenever you wish
to scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl, first move the position selector
to the “0” position. Then place the mixer on the heel rest so that the beaters
can drain into the bowl.
7. When stirring heavy dough, do not insert dough hooks more than 1 inch deep
into the dough so as to avoid some dough being drawn into the machine.

CARING FOR YOUR MIXER
CLEANING
Wash the beaters before and after every use. Beaters may be washed in a dishwasher.
After removing cord from electrical outlet, clean mixer head with a damp cloth
and wipe dry. DO NOT IMMERSE MIXER IN WATER. This may cause electric
shock, injury, or damage to the product. Avoid the use of abrasive cleaners that
will damage the finish of your mixer.
CARE AND CLEANING
1. Before cleaning any part of the mixer, set the position selector to the
“OFF” or “0” position, then unplug the cord from the outlet and eject
the beaters. Be sure to dry all parts thoroughly before using them again.
2. The beaters may be washed in hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher.
3. The mixer and the cord can be cleaned with a damp cloth but the final clean
must be with a dry cloth.
4. To remove stubborn spots, wipe surfaces with a piece of cloth, slightly
dampened, in soapy water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner.
5. Do not use any abrasive cleaner or material to clean any part of the
hand mixer, as it can harm the body of the product.
STORAGE
Hold the plug end by hand and press the cord retract button to reel the cord
into the mixer housing (failure to hold plug may cause plug to whip around).
Note that the last few inches of cord may need to be pushed into the housing
while the release button is depressed. Store the hand mixer on its heel rest in
a clean, dry location such as a cabinet or shelf. Store beaters in a drawer.
MAINTENANCE
Other than the recommended cleaning, no further user maintenance should be
necessary. If for any reason your hand mixer should require repairs, do not
try to fix it yourself. Send it to the nearest Authorized Sunbeam Appliance
Service Center.
CAUTION: The speed of the cord reel is high. Please hold the plug end by hand
before pressing the release button.
DO NOT ALLOW CHILDREN TO USE RETRACTABLE
CORD FEATURE AS THE CORD MAY CAUSE INJURY.
